§ The Working Company

Alpha Remodelers

Alpha Remodelers is a veteran-owned kitchen and bathroom remodeling company based in Chandler, Arizona. It is also the working company where MY LAURA was built and where every feature is still pressure-tested before it ships. If you want to see the proof that MY LAURA works, look at Alpha.

What Alpha does

Alpha Remodelers runs residential remodeling projects in the Phoenix East Valley — Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale. The bread and butter is kitchens and bathrooms, but the shop also takes on whole-home refreshes, additions, and the occasional full gut-to-studs renovation when the project fits.

Projects typically run $25k–$150k with timelines of 4–12 weeks. Most jobs involve 6–10 trade partners — demolition, plumbing, electrical, drywall, cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, finish carpentry, and paint. Alpha coordinates all of them, maintains the project schedule, manages the client relationship, and keeps the books clean.

Who runs it

Travis co-owns Alpha and specializes in tile work. He served in the Army before starting the company. On any given Tuesday he's on a job site, usually hands-on, usually doing detail work that other installers won't touch. He brings military discipline to construction project management — not as a marketing slogan, but as a daily operating mode.

Laura co-owns Alpha and runs everything that doesn't involve holding a tape measure. Estimates, scheduling, trade coordination, QuickBooks, client communication, marketing. She's the "Laura" that MY LAURA is named for — the operational backbone of the company.

Together they've built Alpha into a shop that contractors in the Phoenix network point to as a model for how a small remodeling business should run.

Why Alpha matters to MY LAURA customers

Alpha is not "a prototype customer" or "a pilot account." Alpha is the working company where MY LAURA was invented, and it's still the primary customer. Every feature in MY LAURA was built because Laura needed it at Alpha. Every bug in MY LAURA gets found by Alpha before it reaches you. Every roadmap decision is filtered through the question "would this save Laura time at Alpha?"

When other software companies talk about "customer-informed product development," they mean user interviews and survey results. When we talk about it, we mean Alpha is running a real kitchen gut-job in Chandler right now, using the software, and if something breaks, Travis texts Laura and it gets fixed by Friday.

The certifications

  • Arizona ROC (Registrar of Contractors) licensed
  • A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau
  • Thumbtack Top Company designation
  • Veteran-owned (Travis, US Army)
  • Kitchen and bath specialization since the company's founding

Want to see Alpha's work?

Alpha maintains its own website with portfolio photos, client testimonials, and project case studies. We've kept it separate from MY LAURA's marketing site on purpose — Alpha is a real contracting business serving Phoenix-area homeowners, not a marketing prop for the software company. If you're a homeowner in the Phoenix area looking for a kitchen or bath remodeler, you can find Alpha through the usual channels.

If you're a contractor looking at MY LAURA and you want to know whether this software was really built by a working remodeler or whether that's just a story, ask us anything. Laura responds to every email. The answer is: yes, Alpha is real, it's running right now, and the tool exists because we needed it to.
