Auto-Scheduler: build a timeline from an estimate in 30 seconds.

A full kitchen remodel has 6–12 weeks of work across demolition, rough trades, drywall, cabinets, countertops, appliances, tile, and finish work. Mapping that out by hand in a spreadsheet takes an hour and falls apart the first time something reschedules. MY LAURA's Auto-Scheduler builds the whole timeline from an approved estimate — editable before commit, synced to your calendar and every trade partner's iCal feed.

SCOPE SCAN

Read the estimate, propose a schedule

MY LAURA scans the approved estimate, builds the phases off your schedule template, and proposes appointments with reasonable durations in the right order.

EDITABLE PREVIEW

Nothing commits until you approve

Every proposed appointment is editable — move it, resize it, split it, delete it. The schedule doesn't go live until you say go.

TEMPLATE DRIVEN

Follows how you actually work

Set your schedule template once in Settings — your phases, your typical durations, your sequence. Every Auto-Scheduler run builds off that template so the proposed schedule fits how you run a job, not some generic remodel.

How it works, step by step.

Step 1: Open Auto-Scheduler, pick the project, pick the estimates.

Open Auto-Scheduler, select the project you want to schedule, then pick one or more approved estimates from that project. MY LAURA reads the estimate line items, maps them against your schedule template from Settings, and starts building the proposed schedule phase by phase — demo, rough trades, drywall, cabinets, tile, finishes, whatever order fits how you run jobs. Set the template once and every future project follows it.

Step 2: Review the scope scan.

The scan step shows you how MY LAURA interpreted the estimate and mapped it against your schedule template. Each phase of the template gets its own block — "Demo," "Rough Trades," "Drywall," "Cabinets," "Tile," "Finish Carpentry," and so on. For each phase, MY LAURA proposes appointments with start dates, durations, and scope notes pulled from the estimate line items.

Step 3: Edit the preview.

This is the important step. Nothing commits until you approve. You can:

  • Move any appointment to a different date
  • Use +/- day-count buttons to add or remove days from a multi-day appointment
  • Delete appointments you don't need
  • Add appointments MY LAURA didn't propose
  • Assign specific trade partners to each appointment
  • Toggle "Hide Weekends" to only show working days
  • Edit the scope notes that each trade partner will see

Step 4: Commit and notify.

When the schedule looks right, click Approve. MY LAURA creates all the appointments, assigns them to the selected trade partners, sends SMS notifications with portal links, and updates every subscribed iCal feed. The project goes from approved estimate to fully scheduled in about 30 seconds of work.

This is the Houzz Pro "AutoMate AI" feature — without the upsell.

Houzz Pro has a similar feature called AutoMate AI, which is one of their most marketed capabilities. It's a legitimately good feature — but it sits in a higher pricing tier, and you're paying for a much larger product to get it. MY LAURA includes the Auto-Scheduler in the flat $199/month, with no tier upgrade, no feature gate, no add-on.

Why it works for remodelers specifically.

Service-call software doesn't need a scheduler like this — one visit, one appointment, done. Remodeling software needs it because a project is 20+ appointments across 8+ trades over 6–12 weeks. The time savings compound. Scheduling a remodel by hand takes an hour; with Auto-Scheduler it takes two minutes.

Switch to Gantt after you commit.

The Auto-Scheduler preview itself is a list-style view so you can review and edit quickly. Once you commit, the appointments land on the project schedule where you can switch to Gantt for the bird's-eye look — multi-day bars, gaps, trade overlap. Rebalancing after a reschedule becomes drag-the-bars instead of edit-each-appointment.
